The flag shape built for windy sites
Teardrop flags use a rounded drop shape with the fabric held taut against a curved pole. That tension is the point: where a feather flag furls and flaps in gusts, a teardrop keeps its shape, so your logo stays visible and readable rather than wrapping around the pole.
The right choice for coastal locations, exposed forecourts, open showgrounds and anywhere the wind rarely drops.
📏 Sizes — pole height and flag height
The size you select is the total assembled pole height, measured from the ground to the tip. The printed fabric is shorter, because the pole extends above the flag to hold the material under tension. Both figures are below.

Measuring for a low ceiling or an overhead obstruction? Use the pole height, not the flag height.

Bases are selected separately below — ground spike for grass, a weighted or water-filled base for hard standing.
🚩 Teardrop or feather?
Both use the same poles, bases and fabric, and both come in the same four sizes. The difference is shape and print area. Feather is taller in printed area, better for longer messages and more text. Teardrop holds its shape better in wind and keeps a compact, tidy look. If your site is windy, choose teardrop. If you need to fit more on the flag, choose feather.
🖨️ Single or double-sided print
Single-sided prints one face and shows through in mirror on the reverse. Double-sided is printed on two separate layers with a block-out liner between, so both faces read correctly. Choose double-sided where people approach from both directions.
⚓ Choosing a base
- Rotating ground spike — grass and soft ground
- Cross base — indoor and sheltered hard standing
- 25kg water base — outdoor hard standing, fill on site
- 30kg moulded tyre base — the most stable option for exposed hard standing
- Car roll-over base — sits under a vehicle wheel, ideal for forecourts
🎨 Artwork
Free artwork layout and proofing on every order. Keep important text and logos within a 50mm safe area from the edge. We accept PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, JPEG and PNG — set up in CMYK, images at 100ppi at 100% print size. Ask us for a template for your chosen size.
🌱 Materials
Printed by water-based dye sublimation on recycled knitted polyester. Machine washable, weatherproof, and made in the UK. Fire-rated material and certification available on request.
